Server technology

We host your web hosting package on a server system developed in-house. The resources of each system are available to all customers hosted on it in the same way. Their distribution is controlled via the built-in mechanisms of the Apache web server and the MySQL server. Continuous monitoring of the system and its easy expandability enable us to adapt the overall performance of the system to increasing requirements.

An Artfiles web server system consists of a web server, a DCP server and a database server. This division of services and virtualization give us great flexibility and allow us to tailor each server perfectly to its task. In addition, there are the mail and backup servers, which work independently of the web server system.

As with all our systems, we also rely on intensively tested and proven technology for our shared web hosting: server systems from Dell, CPUs from Intel and server SSDs from Seagate, Samsung and Intel. All three servers, web, DCP and database servers, are virtual servers that are booted on a high-performance Dell blade server. A RAID 1 with SSDs is used on this blade server, thus ensuring fail-safety on the one hand, and high-performance read and write access can be guaranteed with the SSDs on the other.
If a server runs out of resources, we can quickly add more CPU cores and RAM thanks to virtualization. Our round-the-clock monitoring ensures that we are up to date and that we can immediately look at any bottlenecks that occur.

Every web hosting package, from the smallest private tariff upwards, is secured by our self-developed backup system. Every day, our servers store your data on our backup systems in addition to the local RAID. In the worst-case scenario of a complete failure of the web servers, we can still restore your data on a daily basis - live and during operation.
We also make these backups available to you. You can use them to restore accidentally deleted or changed files and even entire databases from an older date with just a few clicks.

Many projects on the web start small and only grow over time. At some point, the time comes for many projects when a shared web hosting account is no longer sufficient. We don't let these projects run into a dead end. If a project goes beyond the scope of a shared web hosting account, we offer a clear upgrade path via virtual, dedicated cloud servers to a high-performance blade server. We handle the conversion of your account quickly, transparently and at no additional cost.
