The Artfiles New Media GmbH data center at Wendenstraße 408 in Hamburg was completed in 2011. In total, it offers space for around 120 cabinets, spread across two completely separate fire compartments. It has been fully expanded since 2016.

We use Rittal racks in the W408 data center. Cold aisle containment is installed for all racks to ensure optimal climate control.

The power supply is provided by a dedicated transformer station (10 kV to 400 V), with expansion space available. In the event of a power supply failure, a diesel generator with a peak output of 690 kVA is available. Several UPS systems are available for the start-up phase of the unit, which usually takes less than 60 seconds. The generator is preheated around the clock, and the UPS systems can ensure the power supply for up to 10 minutes at maximum capacity. Both the UPS and the air conditioning system are fully redundant.

The power supply in the area is provided via four different main lines and fuses, enabling us to achieve a very high degree of redundancy down to the individual rack level. The space is designed to provide and dissipate 5,000 watts per rack, including air conditioning and cooling.

The data center is equipped with an Inergen gas fire suppression system. In addition to smoke detectors, humidity sensors are installed in the floor and air pressure gauges in the cold aisles to ensure trouble-free operation and enable immediate response in the event of malfunctions.

The access system is multi-level and secured by alarm and video surveillance. Access requires both a badge card with PIN entry and biometric authentication using a palm vein scanner. Motion detectors and cameras are installed throughout as part of the security system.
