Cloud Server - The Platform

We rely on Xen as a virtualization solution for our cloud services. Xen is a so-called type 1 hypervisor that mediates directly between the hardware and the virtual servers running on it.We offer you the option to use Xen's paravirtualized mode with operating system images provided by us, as well as operating your own installations in so-called HVM mode.

Hardware - Computing

We only use efficient Dell storage and server systems for our cloud platform. For the computing nodes, we rely on so-called blades from the M6xx series, which can accommodate up to 96 hyperthreading cores and 1.5 TB of RAM. These are supplied with power, cooling and network from a shared chassis. All blades boot from the network and ensure that expensive and energy-intensive local storage media are no longer required.

Hardware - Storage

Your data is stored in several SANs. Storage systems from Dell and Supermicro provide both capacity- and performance-optimized storage solutions. You also have the option of operating different virtual servers in different redundancy groups. They guarantee that your valuable data is stored on different hardware. The storage systems are connected to the computing nodes via multiple redundant iSCSI connections.

The Intelligence Behind the Cloud

Our fully-fledged cloud service is characterized by management software developed in-house. It enables virtual servers to be deployed, scaled with additional resources and removed again within minutes. Efficient resource distribution within the system also ensures that these options remain highly cost-effective. Thanks to the in-house development of the control software, we are able to implement new or special requirements promptly.
