Colocation technology

All Artfiles services are based on the operation of our own data center and routing infrastructure. We operate two main data centers in Hamburg, as well as additional space at three other locations in Hamburg and the surrounding area.

Our own data center is located at Wendenstraße 408 and we operate our own 100 m² suite at Lumen at Süderstraße 198.

Our data centers are connected to the Internet via major international carriers as well as various peering points. It goes without saying that we maintain sufficient redundancy at all times to ensure trouble-free operation even in the event of a connection failure.

In both main data centers, we only use high-quality equipment from manufacturers such as Rittal and HP. Without exception, we host servers in lockable 19" racks. Our routing equipment comes from Juniper and Brocade, and we use active and passive PDUs from Raritan and Bachmann for power distribution.

In addition to the biometric access controls, our data centers are equipped with further access control via badge card and pin. All Artfiles and customer racks are secured with a combination of key and combination lock. Alarm systems, motion detectors and camera surveillance provide burglary protection, and fire alarm and extinguishing systems are of course also available at all locations. If you need even more security for your systems, we can offer you interesting solutions distributed across several locations for the operation of backup or redundant systems. Our data centers are connected by multiple redundant 10 Gbit/s Ethernet lines.

The power supplies in our data centers are backed up by UPS and diesel generators. All relevant technical components are tested regularly. A black building test is carried out every six months, in which a total power failure is simulated. A modern air conditioning system with sufficient reserves ensures consistently optimal temperatures at all times.
